He is the patron saint of architects, dying people, cavers, monks, school children, spelunkers, students, agricultural workers, civil engineers, farm workers, and against fever, gall stones, inflammatory diseases, kidney disease, nettle rash, poison, temptations, witchcraft. St. Benedict was the founder of Western monasticism. He is the patron saint of all sorts of things. Above all, his intercession offers protection from the evil one, especially if one wears his medal. He is the twin brother of St. Scholastica.
