St. Scholastica is the patron of ---- nuns, convulsive children, and against lightning and storms.

She is the twin sister of St. Benedict of Nursia. Born to the Italian nobility. Her mother died in childbirth. Nun. She led a community of women at Plombariola near Montecassino.
