St. Hubert of Liege lived in the 600's. He was the grandson of a king. He lived his worldly, dissolute life moving about western Europe. His conversion experience came one Good Friday while he was out hunting. He saw a vision of a crucifix between the antlers of the stag he was chasing. A voice warned him to turn to the Lord and live a holy life or he will go to hell. After his wife died he studied for the priesthood. He evangelized the Ardenne region (a forested, mountainous region between France, Belgium and Luxembourg), converting pagans and strengthening Christians.
